Oliver Cromwell was an English solider and statesman who
led the English Civil Wars. He was also the lord protector of England,
Scotland, and Ireland during the Commonwealth. He was born in April 25, 1599 in Huntingdon, Huntingdonshire,
England and died in September 3, 1658 in London. He was one of the generals for the parliamentary side of
the civil war against the king and he helped restore the country’s status back
to its high European power since its decline after the death of Queen Elizabeth
the first. He believed in the power of religious toleration and helped to
increase the Puritan belief sets in both Europe as well as North America at the
time.
